Student praised for saving five others

HA NOI (VNS)— Le Van Duoc, 15, who saved five local children from drowning in the Gang River in central Nghe An Province on Monday was praised for his bravery.

In the letter sent yesterday, Education and Training Minister Pham Vu Luan stressed that Duoc's good deed had set an example for adolescents nationwide.

Duoc, a ninth-grader from Thanh Ngoc Secondary School, in Thanh Chuong District, saw the five children, aged 10-13, in difficulty while he was tending a buffalo near the river. He plunged into the water to take five kids to the land respectively. — VNS
