North prepares for further heat waves

HA NOI (VNS)— Heat waves that hit the central region on the weekend have spread to the northern provinces early this week with temperatures reaching as high as 37 degrees Celsius.

According to the National Centre for Hydro-Meteological Forecasting, it will get as hot as 39 degrees Celsius in some places and is expected to last for two or three days. Temperatures will start to fall back down in the northern region from Wednesday.

In middle of May in the northern region, especially in Ha Noi, hot spells saw temperatures reaching a 30-year high of 40 degrees Celsius. — VNS
