HA NOI (VNS)— The Ha Noi-based company Manh Cam was fined VND 15 million (US$710) yesterday for failing to label the French product Danlait Goat Milk a supplementary food.
According to Kieu Dinh Canh from Ha Noi's Market Watch, the milk's quality was tested and certified for safety by the health ministries of both Viet Nam and France.
The case came into the spotlight in February after a mother of a one-year-old made a post online expressing her doubts on the quality of the milk.
On Tuesday, the Market Watch in the southern province of Dong Nai seized over 190 cans of Vinamilk brand milk from a retailer in Long Khanh Town. The retailer allegedly re-printed the expiry date in an attempt to sell the milk.— VNS
