QUANG BINH (VNS)— Authorities in central Quang Binh Province dismissed the manager of the Phong Nha- Ke Bang National Park last Sunday for failing to fulfil his duties.

In April 2012, three ancient Sua trees, a rare and precious timber worth millions of US dollars, were cut down in the park, which is a world natural heritage site.

Nguyen Van Huyen, the park's then deputy director, had failed to instruct forest rangers of their responsibilities. — VNS
