Japan donates fire engines to Viet Nam

HA NOI (VNS)— The Japanese Embassy in Viet Nam yesterday signed a contract with the northern port city of Hai Phong's Fire Fighting and Prevention Department to upgrade fire services in Viet Nam.

Under the US$51,000 contract funded by the Japanese Government, the department will receive five used fire engines, two of which will be sent to Da Nang.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Ambassador Yasuaki Tanizaki said he hoped that the friendship and mutual understanding between Japan and Viet Nam would be deepened in the coming time. — VNS
