O Long tea tested for levels of pesticides

Update: December, 14/2012 - 09:18

HA NOI (VNS)— The Viet Nam Food Administration confirmed that it did not grant a licence to Japanese O Long tea after news spread that this product was recalled for allegedly containing a high level of chemical residues.

The recall was ordered by the Japan-based Ito En Food Company.

The administration said it had only licensed O Long tea produced in Taiwan, South Korea and mainland China.

To protect consumers, the authorities also required relevant agencies to test samples of these teas. — VNS
