MEXICO CITY (VNS)— A delegation from the Communist Party of Viet Nam (CPV) took part in the 12th International Conference on Pre-school Education in Monterey, Mexico last week.
The CPV pays detailed attention to educational development, especially for children, said Lam Phuong Thanh, vice head of the CPV Central Committee's Commission for Publicity and Education. Thanh headed the country's delegation at the conference, which attracted 1,500 delegates from 26 countries and 32 states of Mexico.
Viet Nam defines pre-school education as one of the four objectives of the National Plan on Education for All, and has issued many policies on pre-school education to provide children with the best opportunities, Thanh said. For instance, a policy offering universal education for children under five has been underway for over one year. — VNS
