HA NOI (VNS)— The co-operation in information exchange and professional training between the Vietnam News Agency (VNA) and its Lao counterpart Khaosan Pathet Lao (KPL) has achieved excellent results so far.
Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc made the statement at a reception for visiting acting General Director of the KPL, Sounthone Khanthavong, in Ha Noi yesterday.
He suggested the two sides continue helping each other improve the quality of reporting and photography and work together in personnel training and facility construction.
Phuc expressed his hope that the two news agencies would continue to speed up information co-operation and spread the word about Viet Nam-Laos special relations and cooperative activities in economics and trade and culture to the people of the two countries as well as around the world.
Khanthavong said that the two national news agencies have signed many co-operation agreements and protocols, illustrating their close relationship and increasing mutual information sharing.
He said that KPL hoped for VNA's support in its initiative to educate younger generations on the Viet Nam-Laos friendship.
Earlier, the KPL's delegation held talks with a VNA delegation led by General Director Nguyen Duc Loi.
The two sides reviewed the implementation of bilateral co-operation projects. In one project, VNA will help KPL publish its own Pictorial, and in another it will send technicians to Laos to help the KPL shoot and edit film. — VNS
