DA NANG — The national naval forces successfully returned on Saturday eight fishermen back to the mainland three days after their boat drifted in a storm.
On June 17, while seeking shelter from a storm, the engine of Nguyen Van Nam's fishing boat was damaged and the boat drifted around 90 sea miles from the southeast of Truong Sa (Spratly) Archipelago.
A rescue boat from the naval forces was mobilised and managed to save the victims and their boat.
Previously, seven fishermen were rescued after their boat departed from central Quang Binh Province and technical trouble caused the boat to stall. — VNS
