HA NOI – Viet Nam will invest more than VND63 billion (US$3 million) to build a municipal boarding school for Laos, which was kicked off in the northern Xiengkhouang province yesterday.
The boarding school, a gift from Viet Nam's government, is designed to meet the needs of as many as 315 students with facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, libraries, dorms and so on.
At the event, Somkot Mangnomek, Party Secretary and Chairman of the province, said he highly appreciated Viet Nam for its contributions to education and the development of human resources in Laos.
The ceremony to turn the first sod of the project was jointly hosted by Viet Nam's Ministry of Education and the Laos Ministry of Education and Sports. – VNS
