Update: March, 17/2012 - 09:14

HA NOI — The Japanese Government has provided more than US$330,000 to improve health care and schooling in northern mountainous Lai Chau Province's Tam Duong District.

The funds will be used to either build or expand two health care centres and one secondary school.

Japanese Ambassador to Viet Nam Yasuaki Tanizaki and the district's People's Committee chairman Nguyen Tien Tang signed an agreement on the non-refundable aid in Ha Noi yesterday.

The health centres will meet demand for 7,000 poor people in two communes of Ban Giang and Khun Ha, while nearly 300 secondary students in Ban Giang Commune will benefit when their school is expanded.-VNS
