HA NOI – The Ministry of Finance has submitted a plan to increase fees for special-use vehicles and the new hi-tech driving licences.
According to a proposed supplement which would amend Circular 76/2004/TT-BTC dated July 29, 2004 guiding the collection, remittance, management and use of charges and fees in the road traffic sector, registration and number plate fees for special-use construction vehicles and machines would increase from VND20,000-VND50,000.
Under Circular 20/2010/TT-BGTVT, special-use machinery vehicles are those that use public roadways such as construction machinery, loading/unloading machinery vehicles and tractors used in the agriculture and forestry sectors.
The proposal also announces that the fee for a new hi-tech driving license will be VND135,000 (US$6.4). The new licence, which will take effect from the second quarter of the year, will be printed in Vietnamese and English and will use hi-tech security factors to avoid counterfeiting. – VNS
