HAI PHONG – (VNS) Hai Phong City police have busted a human trafficking ring with links to China, a police spokesman said yesterday.

Alleged ringleaders Trinh Van Huong, 19, and Ngo Van Cuong, 18, of Thuy Nguyen District, have been arrested pending further investigations, the spokesman said.

Police alleged Huong and Cuong had links with brothels in China and they had colluded with Vietnamese human traffickers to find unsuspecting girls to work in the brothels.

Police said that since August, the accused had cajoled and seduced five Hai Phong girls, mostly under the age of 20, who they had then sold to brothels owners. – VNS
