Statistics office to improve data system

HA NOI (VNS)— The United Nations pledged to help Viet Nam sharpen up its gathering of statistics at a meeting in Ha Noi yesterday.

The UN's Population Fund (UNFPA) and Human Settlement Programme (UN HABITAT) will help Viet Nam improve its collection of statistics pertaining to population, reproductive health and gender figures so that precise socio-economic plans can be made.

The work will be given a budget of over US$5.97 million, including $4.5 million provided by UNFPA. — VNS
