Avian flu breaks out in Quang Ninh

QUANG NINH — Avian flu has been reported in Tien Phong Commune in Quang Yen Town in northern Quang Ninh Province, where 4,000 birds contracted the lethal virus.

According to the town's People's Committee, the flu broke out in late July in two farming households in Tien Phong Commune, where 1,000 birds contracted it, but then spread to seven other households in the commune.

Bird flu has recently hit five provinces and cities, according to the Animal Health Department. — VNS
