Scheme to promote contraception
HCM CITY — The Viet Nam Society for Reproductive Medicine, with the assistance of more than 200 doctors and health experts nationwide, has launched a programme to increase awareness about contraceptives.
The programme, under the sponsorship of Merck Sharp&Dohme Asia (MSD), aims to reduce accidental pregnancies and protect women's reproductive health.
Surveys, online consultancy and information on reproductive health and safe-pregnancy prevention will be included in the programme activities.
Websites such as www.thanghoaquyenru.com.vn, www.alobacsi.net, www.webtretho.com and www.eva.com will answer questions.
The latest figures from the National Hospital of Obstetrics and Gynecology show that more than 5,000 abortions occur in the country every year. About 30 per cent of the women under 24.-VNS
