Death leads to closure of herbal clinic

HA NOI — The Ha Noi Department of Health yesterday closed the Maria Polyclinic pending police investigations into the death on Saturday of a patient who had received treatment.

Department chief inspector Nguyen Viet Cuong said the patient, Nguyen Thi Thu Phong, 35, was reported to have gone to the polyclinic, in Dong Da District's Thai Thinh Street, for a health check on Saturday.

After receiving treatment, reportedly from three Chinese practitioners, she died.

Previously the polyclinic had been fined for overcharging and advertising breaches. — VNS
