Biology students win world medals

HA NOI — Vietnamese students won a silver and three bronze medals at the 23rd International Biology Olympiad, which took place in Singapore from July 7.

The Ministry of Education and Training said the Vietnamese team of four included Nguyen Thu Trang, a 12th grader from Le Hong Phong School for the Gifted in Nam Dinh Province, who won the silver.

The three bronze medals went to Nguyen Thi Hai Anh from Vinh Phuc School for the Gifted, Nguyen Thi Hong Ngoc from Ha Noi Teaching School and Tran Duc Huy from Le Hong Phong School for the Gifted.

Over 230 students from more than 60 countries joined the olympiad, which concludes today in Singapore.

Last year, Viet Nam won three bronze medals and one certificate. In 2010, Viet Nam took two silver medals and a bronze. — VNS
