Boat homes unsafe for stormy season

QUANG NINH — Quang Ninh Province People's Committee is boosting inspections and resettlement for residents living in unsafe boat homes ahead of the stormy season.

According to the provincial Waterway Police, at present, the province has nearly 4,700 residents living on 1,146 boat houses that fail to meet safety and fire prevention rules.

Most of the homes are used for shelter, to grow aquaculture products and as floating restaurants.— VNS
