Leader discusses relations with Singapore ambassador

HA NOI — Viet Nam always attaches importance to friendship and co-operative ties with Singapore, Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong said in Ha Noi yesterday.

Trong made the remark at a meeting with Singapore Ambassador to Viet Nam Simon Wong.

He affirmed that further ties would work for the mutual benefit of the two countries as well as for the sake of peace, stability and development of the region and the world.

Wong congratulated Viet Nam for successfully holding the 11th National Party Congress and Trong being appointed as Party leader.

He also briefed Trong on Singapore's key achievements in national development and results of bilateral co-operation. — VNS
