Police seize women in human trafficking case

LAI CHAU (VNS)— Police in the northern mountainous province of Lai Chau yesterday arrested two women for illegally trafficking a 15-year-old girl.

The suspects allegedly took the victim to China to illegally sell her to a Chinese man for RMB15,000 (US$2,400) in the middle of last December. The mother of the victim reported the suspects to local police.

This is the fourth case of human trafficking discovered by the police in just 10 days. — VNS
