Companies fined for pollution

HAI DUONG — The People's Committee of northern Hai Duong Province on Tuesday fined three local enterprises VND130 million ($6,200) for violating the environment law.

The enterprises, Viglacera Ha Noi JSC, Lilama 69-3 JSC and Hong Ha Plastic Factory, were told to pay between VND40-50 million (US$2,000) each for storing toxic waste longer than allowed and violating the environment law.— VNS
