LANG SON — Authorities in northern border Lang Son Province have busted dozens of cases of illegal transport of animal organs, with nearly 50 tonnes of goods confiscated since the beginning of the year.
The smuggling in Lang Son Province is reported to be getting more complicated and difficult to control.
Animal organs illegally transported from China often do not meet food safety standards and contain toxic chemicals, which poses a threat to the safety of customers.
In response, local authorities have stepped up inspections and imposed stricter punishments for violators. This has partly reduced the circulation of these illegal goods within the country. — VNS
