Prime Minister to pay official visits to Kuwait, Myanmar

HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc, his spouse and a high-level Government delegation will pay official visits to Kuwait on October 26 and 27, and to Myanmar on October 28 and 29.

The Prime Minister’s visits are made at the invitation of Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah and Myanmar President U Win Myint, respectively.

Kuwait and Việt Nam set up diplomatic relations in 1976. Two-way trade had almost reached US$2.7 billion last year, with oil and gas and agricultural produces being the focus of co-operation.

Myanmar was the among the first countries to form friendly ties with Việt Nam setting up its liaison office in the ASEAN country in 1947. In 1975, the two countries set up formal diplomatic relations. Việt Nam and Myanmar are targeting $1 billion in trade in the coming time. — VNS
