PM Phúc welcomes JBIC Governor

The Việt Nam-Japan relations have developed strongly and comprehensively in all fiends and Japan continues to be a leading important partner of Việt Nam, said Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc.

HÀ NỘI — The Việt Nam-Japan relations have developed strongly and comprehensively in all fiends and Japan continues to be a leading important partner of Việt Nam, said Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc.

While meeting Governor of the Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC) Tadashi Maeda in Hà Nội yesterday, PM Phúc spoke highly of the bank’s cooperation over the past years and said he believed that the two sides will figure out methods to cooperate more effectively in the coming time.

Governor Tadashi said in the coming time, JBIC would enhance cooperation with Việt Nam.

JBIC was willing to cooperate and support Việt Nam in the energy sector to develop modern thermal power projects to protect the environment. Việt Nam needed to strongly develop gas and thermal power projects, including liquefied natural gas, he said, suggesting that public-private-partnership (PPP) investment model was needed in implementing such energy projects.

PM Phúc said the Government was considering to develop a number of modern thermal power projects and proposed JBIC to help Việt Nam finanlise mechanism and regulations in PPP investment. — VNS
