HÀ NỘI — The Vietnamese Party and State always considers safeguarding the border a regular and vital mission to ensure the stable and sustainable development of the nation, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc said on March 2.

Speaking at a ceremony to mark the 60th traditional day of the Border Guard and the 30th anniversary of the Day of All-People Border Defence (March 3), Phúc lauded efforts made by the Border Guard Force over the past six decades. Higher demand in renewal, integration, cooperation and development requires extra efforts to manage and protect the border, he said.

He asked the Border Guard to actively coordinate with ministries, sectors and localities to implement national border management and protection missions drastically and effectively, and intensify dissemination to create a high consensus among the Party, army and people and the entire political system.

The Government leader also emphasised that building, managing and protecting the national border is the responsibility of the Party, army and people and the entire political system.
