HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc has asked Hà Nội to promptly develop a pilot management project on urban administration and submit it to the Politburo for consideration.

During a conference in the capital city yesterday, the PM lauded the municipal Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee for collecting feedback from ministries and agencies and reporting the progress to National Assembly agencies.

The project must offer better mechanisms for the city in line with Conclusion No.22-KL/TW by the Politburo and Resolution No.18-NQ/TW by the Party Central Committee, ensuring Party leadership and direction over municipal authorities at all levels, he said.

He requested the steering committee in charge of developing the project to take suggestions at the event, adding that the government will partner with Hà Nội during the process.

Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Hoàng Trung Hải said a steering committee was established in February 2018, thoroughly studying eight sub-projects in service of the pilot project, holding eight seminars and working with scientists and experts.

The city also held seminars at the grassroots level and collected opinions from ministries and National Assembly committees on the project.

The project also looks to strengthen rural administration in towns, communes and districts while renewing decentralisation mechanisms and activities of the Party, Việt Nam Fatherland Front and mass organisations at communal and district levels. — VNS
