PHNOM PENH — The Kiên Giang University in Việt Nam’s southern province of Kiên Giang and Cambodia’s Chea Sim Kamchaymear University inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on co-operation in the Cambodian capital city of Phnom Penh on May 24.

Addressing the signing ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador Vũ Quang Minh said during the 16th meeting of the Việt Nam-Cambodia Joint Committee on Economic, Cultural, Scientific and Technological Cooperation in Hà Nội last week, the two countries agreed to enhance collaboration in personnel training and sustainable development of each side.
Accordingly, the two sides will accelerate the establishment of a Vietnamese study centre at the Royal University of Phnom Penh. Việt Nam will continue to grant hundreds of long-term scholarships to Cambodian students every year. In response, Cambodia will help train Vietnamese students at the request of Vietnamese ministries, agencies and localities.
