Việt Nam treasures multifaceted cooperation with Côte d'Ivoire: Deputy FM

HÀ NỘI – Vice Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Phùng Quốc Hiển hosted a reception for head of the Economic, Technology and Environment Committee of the Lao National Assembly Bounpone Sisoulath in Hà Nội.
Hien highlighted Việt Nam’s consistent policies of treasuring and giving top priority to the preservation and promotion of special ties with Laos, affirming that Việt Nam always strongly supports Laos’ national reform, defence and construction.
He also lauded the fruitful cooperation between the Economic, Technology and Environment Committee of the Lao NA and the Economic Committee of the Việt Nam NA, stressing that the Vietnamese legislature will work closely with the Lao side to effectively implement their cooperation agreement.
Hien told the guest that Việt Nam is preparing to host the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum from January 17-21 in Hà Nội, and hoped the top Lao legislator and high-ranking delegation will attend the event as significant support for Việt Nam.
For his part, Bounpone Sisoulath, who is on a visit to Việt Nam from January 8-13, said that in 2018, the Lao NA will focus on revising the Land Law and that his visit aims to learn from Việt Nam’s experience in land management and use.
He also pledged that the Economic, Technology and Environment Committee and the Economic Committee of the Việt Nam NA will continue sharing experience in legislation.
Earlier on Monday, head of the NA Economic Committee Vũ Hồng Thanh held talks with the Lao official, during which the two sides shared experience in building the 2013 Land Law of Việt Nam as well as the new points of the law. — VNS
