THANH HÓA — National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân spoke highly of the active role and contributions of the Catholic community to the national building and development cause while visiting the Thanh Hóa diocese on the occasion of the Christmas and New Year holidays.

Ngân informed Catholic dignitaries and followers in the central province of the country’s socio-economic achievements, notably the success of the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week held in Đà Nẵng City early Novermber.
These achievements were the result of joint efforts by ministries and sectors as well as the contributions of all people, including the Catholic community, she stressed.
Quoting the Holy Father’s saying “To be a good Christian is to be a good citizen”, the top legislator expressed her hope that Thanh Hóa’s Catholic dignitaries and followers will continue promoting the patriotic tradition and contribute more to the construction and development of the nation in general and the locality in particular.
