HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam and the Republic of Korea (RoK) may cooperate in science education and training, Deputy Prime Minister Vũ Đức Đam told Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education of the RoK Kim Sang Kon at their meeting in Hà Nội on December 14.

He noted that the RoK is one of the top five science cooperation partners of Việt Nam. The RoK could share experiences and support Việt Nam to develop new education models such as virtual universities, distance education and e-learning, he said.

The Deputy PM urged the two countries’ relevant agencies to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese students to study in the RoK, focusing on vocational training and Korean language.

The two countries should also enhance cooperation in various fields such as culture and tourism on the basis of mutual trust and understanding, he suggested.

Kim Sang Kon agreed with the host that relations between Việt Nam and the RoK are developing across investment, trade, economics, culture and education.

The RoK is willing to share experiences in new education methods with Việt Nam, he said, adding that his government will continue encouraging Korean businesses to pour investment in Việt Nam, contributing to Việt Nam’s exports and generating jobs for local workers. — VNS
