HÀ NỘI — Việt Nam is deeply concerned about the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea’s (DPRK) launch of a ballistic missile over Japan’s airspace on September 15, which seriously violated relevant resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and increased tension in the region, spokeswoman of the Vietnamese Foreign Ministry Lê Thị Thu Hằng said.

Việt Nam consistently supports all efforts to promote dialogue and maintain peace and stability on the Korean peninsula, Hằng said on Sunday in reply to reporters’ queries on the DPRK’s move.

“Việt Nam also calls on the parties concerned to strictly comply with related resolutions of the United Nations Security Council and take constructive and practical actions to contribute to maintaining peace, security and stability in the region and the world,” she added. — VNS
