HÀ NỘI – Việt Nam is deeply concerned and strongly condemns the series of terror attacks in Europe, including the knife attack on civilians in the Finnish city of Turku on August 18, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Lê Thị Thu Hằng said yesterday.
She was responding to reporters’ questions about the attack that killed and injured several people.
“We offer our condolences to the Government and people of Finland and the bereaved, and believe that the terrorists will be duly punished,” she said.
No Vietnamese citizen was a victim in the attacks, she said, adding that the Foreign Ministry had asked the Vietnamese embassy in Finland to keep a close watch on relevant developments and prepare emergency support in case Vietnamese citizens face difficulties, she said. — VNS
