VN, Laos advised to tackle renewal issues

Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng yesterday suggested Việt Nam and Laos intensify co-operation to tackle urgent renewal issues in either country, especially regarding building of the Party and political system, socio-economic development and international integration.

HÀ NỘI – Party General Secretary Nguyễn Phú Trọng yesterday suggested Việt Nam and Laos intensify co-operation to tackle urgent renewal issues in either country, especially regarding building of the Party and political system, socio-economic development and international integration. 

He made the suggestion while receiving Kikeo Khaykhamphithoune, Secretary of the Lao Party Central Committee, Head of the Lao People’s Revolutionary Party (LPRP) Central Committee’s Commission for Propaganda and Training, and President of the Lao National Council for Social Sciences, in Hà Nội.

The senior Lao official is in Hà Nội to attend the Fifth Theoretical Workshop on “Rapid, sustainable development.” 

"Việt Nam strongly supports the renewal process in Laos and believes the Lao people will record more significant achievements and implement successfully the Resolution adopted at the fifth National Party Congress," Trong said. 

Việt Nam would spare no effort to maintain and nurture the special solidarity with Laos, he added. 

The Lao official expressed his pleasure at growing bilateral relations in all fields. He also thanked Việt Nam for the valuable assistance it has provided Laos in the past and at present. — VNS
