NA leader presents gifts to Heroic Mothers in Quảng Nam

At the nursing centre for meritorious people in the south-central province of Quảng Nam, NA Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân on Monday presented 106 saving accounts with deposits of VNĐ2 million (US$88) each to Việt Nam Heroic Mothers and policy beneficiaries, part of activities in preparation for the upcoming 70th anniversary of the Việt Nam War Invalids and Martyrs (27/7/1947 – 27/7/2017).

QUẢNG NAM — At the nursing centre for meritorious people in the south-central province of Quảng Nam, NA Chairwoman Nguyễn Thị Kim Ngân on Monday presented 106 saving accounts with deposits of VNĐ2 million (US$88) each to Việt Nam Heroic Mothers and policy beneficiaries, part of activities in preparation for the upcoming 70th anniversary of the Việt Nam War Invalids and Martyrs (27/7/1947 – 27/7/2017).

The NA leader affirmed that the Party and State pay special attention to supporting those who contributed to the nation and the revolutionary cause.

At the same time, the whole community has helped the State in the work, she said.

Earlier the same day, the top legislator laid a wreath at the Monument to Martyrs and the Statue of Việt Nam Heroic Mothers in the province.

She also visited a number of local policy beneficiary families, and offered incense at the Martyrs’ Cemetery in Điện Bàn District.

Quảng Nam suffered heavy consequences from war against the US (1954-1975) with 23 per cent of its population policy beneficiaries. The province has 14,792 Việt Nam Heroic Mothers, 911 still living. The province is also home to 65,000 war martyrs and more than 30,000 wounded and sick veterans. — VNS
