HÀ NỘI – The Vietnamese Government will facilitate conditions for Japanese investment in Việt Nam to promote friendship and co-operation between the two countries, Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc said in Hà Nội on Saturday at a meeting with Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Hiroshige Seko.

Seko is in Việt Nam for the 23rd Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Trade (MRT 23) of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.
Prime Minister Phúc also spoke highly of the exchange activities between the two countries, especially the first visit to Việt Nam by the Japanese Emperor and Empress that marked a milestone in friendship between the two sides.
He also asked relevant organisations from both sides to discuss promotion of farm produce imports and exports, contributing to increasing two-way trade which is not commensurate with the two countries’ potential.
Minister Hiroshige Seko said the Japanese government and people wanted Prime Minister Phúc to pay an official visit to the country, pledging that his ministry would make contributions to the success of the Vietnamese leader’s visit.
