HÀ NỘI — Three guided missile cruisers from the Russian Navy’s Pacific Fleet have arrived at Cam Ranh international seaport of Việt Nam’s south central coastal Khánh Hòa Province.

The guard missile cruiser Varyag, the medium-sized sea tanker Pechanga and rescue tugboat Fotiy Krylov, with a total of more than 640 sailors onboard, started a goodwill visit to the country from Thursday to Monday.

During the visit, the commanders of the ship group, headed by Lieutenant Colonel Alexey Yurevich Ulyanenko, will meet leaders of Khánh Hòa  People’s Committee and officers of the Vietnamese Navy.

Russian naval officers will also participate in activities to solidify collaboration in defence and maritime security between the two nations.

The visit will help enhance the Việt Nam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership, including ties in defence and navy. — VNS
