Ministry to report on families in key administrative positions

Deputy Prime Minister Trương Hòa Bình has ordered the Ministry of Home Affairs to look into reports that many members of two families hold key administrative positions in two localities of Hải Dương and Hải Phòng.

HÀ NỘI — Deputy Prime Minister Trương Hòa Bình has ordered the Ministry of Home Affairs to look into reports that many members of two families hold key administrative positions in two northern localities of Hải Dương and Hải Phòng.

On April 13, Tuổi trẻ (Youth) online newspaper published a report that many members of a family in Hải Dương Province’s Kim Thành District and Hải Phòng City’s An Dương District hold key administrative positions in the two localities.

It stated that in Kim Thành District, Nguyễn Hữu Tiến is secretary of the district’s Party Committee, his younger brother Nguyễn Hữu Hưng is vice-chairman of the district’s People’s Committee, and his brother-in-law Nguyễn Hồng Cương heads the organisation department of the district’s Party Committee.

Another article published in Đời Sống Plus (Life Plus) online newspaper on April 15 has alleged that in An Dương District, Nguyễn Trường Sơn is vice-chairman of the district’s People’s Committee, his older brother Nguyễn Thế Sơn is head of the committee’s finance and planning office, and his younger brother Nguyễn Thế Hùng is deputy head of the organisation department of the district’s Party Committee.

Bình has asked the ministry to send him a report before April 28. — VNS
