HÀ NỘI — Legal aid measures are being prepared to protect the legitimate interests of Đoàn Thị Hương, a suspect in the death of Democratic People’s Republic of Korea citizen Kim Chol, according to Việt Nam’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As requested by Hương and her family, the Vietnamese Embassy and the Vietnam Bar Federation continue to co-ordinate with relevant agencies and the bar association of Malaysia to arrange the assistance.

Representatives of the Vietnamese Embassy in Malaysia made a consular visit to Hương yesterday to assure she was receiving humanitarian treatment.

Hương said she was in good health and that she had been tricked into engaging in the case.

Later the same day, representatives of the foreign ministry’s Consular Department informed Hương’s family in Nam Định Province of her situation. — VNS
