HÀ NỘI  President Trần Đại Quang on Thursday visited intellectuals in Hà Nội to extend New Year wishes to them.

Quang met and wished professor and Labour Hero Vũ Khiêu longevity and happiness and expressed hope that he would continue to brainstorm and contribute ideas for the country’s development. In turn, Khiêu expressed his belief in the nation’s bright future.

As the first director of the Việt Nam Academy of Social Sciences, Khiêu has laid the foundation for the development of social sciences. He  has authored hundreds of works on Marxism and Leninism, Hồ Chí Minh Thought, philosophy, moralism, culture and literature.

The president then visited professor People’s Teacher Hà Minh Đức, who was awarded the Hồ Chí Minh Prize in Literature and Arts in 2012. Quang spoke glowingly about Đức’s research on late President Hồ Chí Minh, who has inspired the party, the armed forces and the population to follow his moral example and lifestyle. He hoped the professor would continue contributing to national construction and defence.

Đức thanked party and state leaders for their support, saying that it encourages intellectuals and artists to contribute more to the nation.

Quang also paid a call to Labour Hero, People’s Teacher and People’s Artist Trần Thu Hà. He wished her good health and said he looked forward to her contributions to the country’s culture and arts.  VNS
