HÀ NỘI — President Trần Đại Quang has assured R.Kh. Mardanov, Prime Minister of Bashkortostan - a federal subject of Russia - that the Vietnamese State will continually facilitate ties with Russian localities, especially in the fields of economy, trade and investment.

During a reception in Hà Nội yesterday, the President shared his wish that Russia’s and Bashkortostan’s businesses will invest more in Việt Nam, noting that the Vietnamese State and concerned agencies stand ready to provide all possible support for foreign enterprises, including those from Bashkortostan, to do long-term business in the country.

The Republic of Bashkortostan is one of the leading hubs for not only oil and gas, petrochemical refinery, mechanical processing and agriculture, but also personnel training in oil and gas exploitation and refineries. President Quang suggested both sides consider expanding co-operation in those fields based on each side’s strength and demand.

He hailed the signing of a cooperation agreement and action programme between Bashkortostan and the southern province of Bà Rịa – Vũng Tàu.

On the occasion, Quang thanked the Bashkortostan administration for assisting Vietnamese nationals and students majoring in oil and gas in the country.

Mardanov, for his part, said his visit aimed to supplement leaders’ commitments to developing bilateral ties.

He thanked Vietnamese nationals and businesses for contributing to the host country’s economy and said a number of business representatives accompanied him during the visit to explore opportunities in oil, gas and agriculture.

Also yesterday in Hà Nội, Deputy Prime Minister Trịnh Đình Dũng hailed co-operation between localities of Việt Nam and the Republic of Bashkortostan of Russia.
During a reception for Prime Minister Mardanov, Dũng said Việt Nam always gives priority to boosting ties with Russia in the fields of politics, economy, national defence-security, science-technology, culture, tourism and direct co-operation between localities.
"The Vietnamese Government stands ready to facilitate ties with Russian localities in major fields, especially in the economy, trade and investment," he said.
"As the free trade agreement between Việt Nam and the Eurasian Economic Community is put into force, Vietnamese and Russian investors, including those from Bashkortostan, will have more chances to reinforce ties in agriculture, oil and gas, and mechanical engineering," he said.
The host also pledged all possible support for foreign businesses, including those from Bashkortostan, to do long-term business in Việt Nam. — VNS
