HÀ NỘI — Prime Minister Nguyễn Xuân Phúc visited the National Convention Centre in Hà Nội yesterday to scrutinise preparations for three regional summits that will convene today.

The 7th Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Co-operation Strategy Summit (ACMECS 7), the 8th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Việt Nam Summit (CLMV 8) and the World Economic Forum on Mekong (WEF-Mekong) summits will run through October 26.

At the Convention Centre, Phúc heard organisers’ reports on reception, security, health care and food safety preparations

Since these are major diplomatic events for Việt Nam this year, relevant forces urgently need to complete all preparations to ensure absolute safety for the events, the Prime Minister said.

The ultimate goal is to ensure the success of the meetings and to impress international delegates with the land and people of Việt Nam, he noted.

Leaders of Việt NamCambodiaLaosMyanmar and Thailand, as well as representatives from international organisations, WEF member businesses and big enterprises in Mekong river countries, will attend the summits.
