BÀ RỊA-VŨNG TÀU – Voters who are working on offshore ships and oil rigs yesterday finished casting their ballots.

Yesterday, the election council of the southern Bà Rịa-Vũng Tàu Province, in co-operation with the Việt Nam-Russia Joint Venture Vietsovpetro, held early elections for engineers and workers working in oil rigs, who could not take part in the national elections.

The national election of National Assembly and People’s Council at all levels will be held on May 22.

The ballots were placed in Vũng Tàu Airport and Vietsovpetro’s port in Vũng Tàu City.

Early in the morning, hundreds of engineers and workers of Vietsovpetro and other oil companies went to the polls before leaving for long working trips on sea.

According to the provincial election council, about 2,000 voters will take part in the early election. – VNS
