HÀ NỘI (VNS) — Deputy Prime Minister Vũ Đức Đam has urged the industry ministries of Việt Nam and Cambodia to boost their links to support both countries’ businesses in the industry and investment fields.
During his reception for Cambodian Minister of Industry and Handicrafts Cham Prasidh in Hà Nội yesterday, the Deputy PM said the two countries should expand their cooperation in the production of goods and supply, not only their markets, but also by expanding into other markets.
Vietnamese firms have poured money into 182 projects in industry, investment and trade in Cambodia. Việt Nam is Cambodia’s third largest trade partner, with an average growth of 18.5 per cent from 2010-2015.
Reviewing his talks with representatives from Việt Nam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade, Minister Cham Prasidh stated that the two ministries are focusing on measures to assist both countries’ businesses.
Cambodia wants to learn from Việt Nam’s experience in managing small and medium-sized enterprises exporting goods, particularly the shipment of garments, he said.
He also underlined the need to boost the exchange of all delegations between the two countries, and enhance economic connection in various fields, thus strengthening the bilateral relationship. — VNS
