President bids farewell to ambassadors

HA NOI (VNS) — President Truong Tan Sang yesterday held farewell meetings in Ha Noi with outgoing ambassadors of Malaysia, Philippines and Indonesia.

During his meeting with Indonesia Ambassador Mayerfas, the President expressed his condolences to the country and people of Indonesia for losses after the bomb attacks yesterday morning. Sang said that he believed the country would overcome the hardship.

At another meeting, Sang praised Malaysian Ambassador Azmil Bin Mohd Zabidi's contributions during his posting in Viet Nam in boosting bilateral ties in all fields, especially in economy, trade and investment.

Speaking to Filipino Ambassador Jerril Santos, the President appreciated the co-operation between the two countries in trade and investment as well as in East Sea issues. Also yesterday, President Sang welcomed ambassadors from Kuwait and Germany, who presented their credentials.

Receiving Kuwaiti Ambassador Adnan Abdullah Al-Ahmad, Sang said that there was a lot of potential for co-operation between the two countries.

Meeting German Ambassador Christian Berger, he said he supported German enterprises to invest more in Viet Nam as well as implement vocational training programmes to enhance the quality of human resources in Viet Nam. — VNS
