HUNAN (VNS) — National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung arrived in Hunan Province yesterday as part of his official visit to China.
Secretary of the Hunan provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the provincial People's Congress Xu Shousheng welcomed the Vietnamese leader's visit and believed that it would strengthen the time-honoured amity and comprehensive strategic co-operation partnership between Viet Nam and China.
Xu said that more than 70 Hunan businesses were doing business in mining, building material and machinery production in Viet Nam. The province also established the friendship and co-operative relationship with Viet Nam's Nghe An province in 2001.
For his part, Hung spoke highly of Hunan's socio-economic development, especially economic growth and improved living standards, and voiced his delight at the recent progress in relations between Viet Nam and China as well as between Hunan and Vietnamese localities.
He asked Chinese localities, including Hunan, to effectively implement the agreements reached by the nations' leaders, and increase exchanges and co-operation with Vietnamese ministries, sectors and localities, ultimately deepening their traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic co-operative partnership. — VNS
