VIENTIANE (VNS) — The Vietnamese Ministry of Justice stands ready to help Laos train personnel in legal and judicial fields, Minister Ha Hung Cuong assured Lao Prime Minister Thongsing Thammavong in a reception in Vientiane yesterday.
The support would form part of a project to develop the Lao Judicial Training Academy, he said, adding that he hoped the Lao government would back the project – a joint work between the Vietnamese and Lao Ministries of Justice.
Cuong expressed his belief that the 2015 Constitution of Laos recently promulgated by President Choummaly Sayasone would lay a foundation for Laos to pass renovation policies.
Thammavong, for his part, praised the outcomes of talks between the two justice ministers.
He said the enhanced collaboration between the two ministries would contribute to fine-tuning the legal system and building an environment to exercise rights to democracy and people's mastery. — VNS
