President hails Thai Ambassador's successful tenure in Viet Nam

HA NOI (VNS) — President Truong Tan Sang highly valued the contributions of Thai Ambassador Panyarak Poolthup to promoting relations between Viet Nam and Thailand during his tenure in Viet Nam.

At a reception for the outgoing Ambassador in Ha Noi yesterday, President Sang said Viet Nam treasured its strategic partnership with Thailand, adding that he appreciated the joint efforts made in preparation for celebrations of the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties.

The President also called on Thai businesses to invest in Viet Nam and asked the Thai government to create favourable conditions for Vietnamese workers to join its labour market.

The Thai diplomat thanked President Sang as well as Vietnamese agencies and sectors for helping him fulfill his missions in Viet Nam.

He expressed his pleasure at receiving the "For Peace and Friendship among Nations Medal" from the Viet Nam Union of Friendship Organisations.

He conveyed the invitations of Thai government leaders to President Sang to visit Thailand in the coming time.

The outgoing Ambassador also thanked Viet Nam for facilitating Thai business operations in the country, adding that the Thai Government was working on projects to help Vietnamese fishermen to increase the value of aquatic products. — VNS
