HA NOI (VNS) — Deputy Prime Minister Vu Van Ninh has told the President of International Investment Bank (IIB) Nikolay Kosov that Viet Nam's Government supports IIB's plan for comprehensive reforms to develop the bank in accordance with international standards.
At his meeting yesterday with the IIB President, Ninh reiterated that Viet Nam would continue working closely with the IIB and its members on the reforms and toward the strategic goals of the bank.
He affirmed that as an IIB member, Viet Nam was working to build a favourable business climate for the bank to operate in Viet Nam. Kosov thanked Deputy PM Ninh and spoke highly of Viet Nam's active role during the bank's reform over the past three years.
He informed the Deputy PM that the IIB had provided US$40 million to support small- and medium-sized enterprises in Viet Nam in recent years and unveiled that the bank was capable of funding larger projects, especially those in the area of infrastructure development. — VNS
