HA NOI (VNS) — Vietnamese President Truong Tan Sang and his spouse will attend the 23rd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Manila, the Philippines today.
Established in 1989, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) group now comprises 21 economies, representing around 39 per cent of the world's population, 57 per cent of total global GDP and 47 per cent of international trade.
Attending the event from November 17-19 will be leaders of the APEC member economies, plus the president of Colombia as an observer.
US President Barack Obama, Russian President Vladimir Putin, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe will also be among the attendees, AFP reported. — VNS
